Since its foundation in 1992, the AERO Club has become one of the most active clubs in the region. The 121 members and the events organized by it, e.g. The National & International Gliding Championships have an excellent reputation and attract many visitors from all over Germany and beyond.
The Hanseatic city of Stendal is county seat of the district of Stendal and with about 40,000 inhabitants, the largest city and transport hub in the Altmark in Saxony-Anhalt. It attracts, develops and supports events that contribute to economic growth and development across various sectors and which provide unique experiences for the city’s citizens, guests and business community. Stendal assists event planners within a wide range of fields: Sporting events, cultural events and knowledge events among others.
Flugplatzgesellschaft Stendal-Borstel e.V.
Since February 1997, the airfield company Stendal Borstel mbH is the operator of the airfield and has set itself the goal to develop the airfield into an important infrastructure facility and a high-performance business location in the north of Saxony-Anhalt. The airfield is an ideal place for small and medium-sized airlines, business people, ambulance, federal police, German Federal Armed Forces, flight schools and private pilots business flights and passenger transport to do business or to get to know the interesting area.

The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, FAI – The World Air Sports Association is an international organization (non-governmental & non-profit making) aiming to promote aeronautical and astronautical activities worldwide, ratifying world and continental records and coordinating the organization of international competitions. The FAI is representing more than 100 member countries worldwide and is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The German Aero Club e. V. (DAeC) is the umbrella organization of air sports in Germany. It has 21 direct members – the state associations – and over 100,000 indirect members. Internationally, the DAeC is a member of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) and Europe Air Sports (EAS).
